The Full Story
Vixos was founded with the mission of creating drone safety technology to enable the integration of drones in the airspace of the future. Vixos is committed to making drone operations safer and more accessible by developing innovative technology.

The company was established in December 2021 by Simon and Anders, who have complementary backgrounds as technician and researcher at Aalborg University. Anders has led the Drone Research Lab for years and participated in numerous drone-related research projects. Many of these projects faced challenges obtaining flight permissions without suitable containment measures for the drones.

This inspired the duo to develop an independent system capable of terminating a flight in case of malfunctions. While initially believing this would be quick and straightforward to implement, they soon realized the complexity of meeting regulatory requirements and achieving sufficient reliability. Anders’ extensive experience advising authorities on drone safety and his deep understanding of regulations highlighted the significant development effort needed to create a compliant system. This, combined with Simon's expertise in electronics and hardware, allowed Vixos to create the Beyond flight termination system.

Realizing that many other drone operators would face the same challenges of implementing a reliable and independent containment system became the foundation of Vixos. Over the next few years, Simon and Anders worked on the project alongside their regular jobs. However, with the support of several project grants, they were able to dedicate themselves full-time to the company. This shift marked a turning point, and today, Vixos’ first flight termination system is ready for market launch.
