Beyond 12

Beyond 12 is a highly reliable, flexible, and easy-to-use flight termination system. It can be integrated into any drone that uses PWM signals or CAN bus for control. It contains a satellite modem and connects directly to the Beyond Base, the base station for activating termination.

Up to four signals can be interrupted or replaced, and an additional four output signals are available during termination.

The form factor is small and lightweight at only 98 grams. With an IP68 rating, it can be mounted anywhere on the drone. A complete integration requires an Iridium antenna and a single connector cable that connects to both the autopilot and the servos, ECUs, ESCs, or any other actuator used for termination.

Beyond 12 has an optional secondary link that allows the user to connect a separate radio between Beyond 12 and Beyond Base Single. Any radio system with serial TTL can be used, including existing radio links on the drone.

If an existing radio system is not available, Beyond 12 can also be augmented with an internal radio. This has the same form factor and is only 10 mm higher than the standard Beyond 12.

Beyond Base Single

The Base can activate the flight termination with a few pushes of the buttons. Due to the satellite connections, it is entirely independent and can be used anywhere at any time to terminate the drone flight. It can be carried around the neck and is, therefore, always immediately available.

The base is made of sturdy nylon and is an entirely self-contained unit. It contains an Iridium modem and antenna, and it simply needs to be held upright during emergency use. The battery will last a full flight day and can be charged with any standard USB charger.

A series of LEDs on the front shows battery status, satellite connection, and regular heartbeat messages from the Beyond 12.

The mass is 280 g, and with an IP56 rating, it can be carried outside at all times, also in the rain.

Beyond Base Single has an optional secondary link, which provides an M8 connector on the back for an external radio connection. It can also be augmented with an internal radio (see lower-most image).

Beyond 22

Beyond 22 has all the functionality of Beyond 12, plus a series of additional features. It has 8 independent signals that can be interrupted (compared to 4 in Beyond 12). Using 2 of these signals, it can filter the traffic on a CAN bus by removing specific messages and inserting new ones to execute a termination.

Using a GNSS receiver, it has the capability to execute an automated termination based on geography (geofencing). This also allows tracking of the drone in the event of loss of telemetry.

Up to 12 Beyond 22s can be controlled from the same Beyond Base Multi, allowing the operator to have a single base even when multiple drones are flying at the same time.

Through serial or IP connection to the autopilot, the operator can upload fly/no fly zones prior to flight, and also monitor the health of the system directly in the ground control station during operations.
